Dear friends and neighbors,
Thank you for visiting my website. It’s an honor to represent the citizens of District 5 on the Washington County Board of Commissioners; it would be a privilege to serve another term in public office. During these uncertain times I know you are working hard for your family. With that in mind, I am working hard for you to find cost cost-effective solutions to our most pressing problems, notably what will come next in the post-COVID economy.
I was first elected to the County Board in 2008 to complete an unfinished term and was re-elected in 2010, 2012, and ran unopposed in 2016. With the support of voters in November I’d like to continue to represent the majority of Woodbury at the local, regional, state and national levels.
I’ve built strong ties to my community and have served as a parent volunteer for the Woodbury Athletic Association and in Woodbury area schools. For over 12 years I’ve volunteered with the local Lions Club and at Woodbury Days annual events. I’m a long-time member of the Woodbury Chamber of Commerce and have heard firsthand the challenges facing the business community as they continue to invest in local jobs and expand our county tax base.
Decisions made at the local levels of government have a tremendous impact on the quality of daily life; new solutions and partnerships will be assets as we build back better together from the effects of the pandemic and another economic recession.
I value the trust citizens have conferred in me to make sound decisions on their behalf. I care deeply about neighborhood stability and will work to create programs and services that foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone who lives here.
I am here to represent you. Please contact me with questions or concerns.
I run against no one, I run for our citizens.
Respectfully,
Lisa Weik
County Board, representing District 5
