About Lisa

Lisa Weik has called Woodbury home since 1997, and is originally from the metropolitan area. Weik (rhymes with Like!), is married to Phillip, and their two children attended area schools.

Prior to public service, Weik had an established 11 year career in medical device manufacturing as a regulatory compliance specialist; employed by Medtronic Corp. (Cardiac Surgery/Neuromodulation Divisions), for six years before winning a special election in 2008, to serve the citizens of District 5 in Woodbury. Her previous private sector experience includes 10 years working in clinical laboratory medicine including Hennepin County Medical Center/Abbott-Northwestern Hospitals, and Park Nicollet’s Brookdale Urgent Care (ASCP certified clinical laboratory assistant). After entering the workforce, she completed her bachelor of science at the University of Minnesota, subsequently participating in the Biological Sciences Alumni Society, elected BSAS Board President 1999-2000.

She has served her community as a parent volunteer for the Woodbury Athletic Association and in Woodbury area schools. Weik is a longtime member of the Woodbury Chamber of Commerce and the local Lions Club. Weik assisted local leaders’ early efforts with Beyond the Yellow Ribbon network to support military families/veterans; she has volunteered annually at the Woodbury Days celebration since 2008.

Weik has been a life-long fitness enthusiast including the sports of tennis, cycling and swimming but has also enrolled since 2014, in local instructor-led running classes both for its health benefits and for the fun social networking with other fitness-minded women. She is an amateur photographer and has training in performing arts, including music and theater; Weik received the Leon A. Snyder Award in 1994, College of Biological Sciences St. Paul, U of MN.
